The Preliminary Draft Agreement-in-Principle (AIP) was posted for public review on December 13, 2012. The negotiators for the Algonquins of Ontario, Canada and Ontario noted at the time that the Preliminary Draft was a work in progress that was under review and subject to revision based on public consultation and continuing negotiations.

The negotiation teams for the Algonquins of Ontario, Canada and Ontario would like to thank all those who participated in the recent public information sessions organized throughout Eastern Ontario March 6 – 16, 2013.
Releasing a Preliminary Draft Agreement-in-Principle for public review is unprecedented. We appreciate the interest of everyone who attended and the input we have received to date. Your comments will be carefully considered as we continue our work towards a draft Agreement-in-Principle.
This is an ongoing process which will include many further opportunities to provide constructive input. We look forward to working together in the spirit of reconciliation to balance the many interests of the Algonquins and their neighbours in the land claim area.
